The Sony HT-SC40 is a 2.1 channel soundbar system that includes a wireless subwoofer for enhanced bass performance. The soundbar features X-Balanced Speaker Units with Separated Notch Edge technology for improved vocal clarity and clear dialog, while the 106mm wireless subwoofer delivers deep, rich bass for an immersive audio experience.
The system supports Dolby Digital and uses Sony's S-Force PRO Front Surround technology to simulate theater-style virtual surround sound from a compact soundbar form factor. Sound settings include Voice mode for clearer dialog, Night mode for quieter listening without disturbing others, and Sound Field mode for converting stereo audio into surround sound. The soundbar connects to TVs via HDMI ARC for single-cable convenience and includes one HDMI input, one HDMI output, and one optical audio input.
Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity allows wireless streaming of music from smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The wall-mountable soundbar has a flat back design that fits flush against walls, and an OLED display window provides at-a-glance status information. A digital amplifier with S-Master technology delivers 330W total power output. The package includes the soundbar, wireless subwoofer, optical cable, AC cable, remote control with batteries, quick setup guide, and instruction manual.
